There are 13,438 McDonald’s in the U.S. McDonald’s

purchases over 300 million pounds of chicken per year. The

consumption of chicken has been rising since the early

2000s with little change to factory-farming practices.

50 Chicken Nuggets aims to recontextualize the chicken in

a capitalistic point of view to emphasize the commodification

of livestock.
